jasper morrison for alessi
All lids sold separately so you can mix and match amongst your pans if you have the same size base pots.

The pots + pans series is made from 18/10 stainless steel with an aluminium and AISI 430 magnetic steel radiating base (4mm thick) making them suitable for induction cooktops. The interior is glazed and the exterior is polished.

The clever lid design allows the wooden spoon to be inserted for safe and easy removal of the lid whilst cooking. The lid can be completely turned upside down whilst remaining horizontal.

Two other characteristics are particularly worthy of note: the wide internal radius of the base, which guarantees greater cooking performance, and the flared rim, which facilitates pouring foods and liquids.

All the pots are made from 0.8mm thick stainless steel, except for the 20cm pot, the two-handled saucepan and the 16cm saucepan, which are all 1mm thick.

The handles are spot-welded and the base is joined by impact bonding.

The 20cm and the 14cm pots, the 16cm, 20cm and 24cm two-handled saucepans along with the milk boiler have graduated measures on the inside wall to correctly measure liquid reduction or levels.

Suitable for induction, gas, electric or pyroceram hobs. Oven and dishwasher safe.

Alessi products sold at top3 by designAlessi
Alessi is one of those companies which embodies a typical phenomenon of Italian industrial culture, namely that of "Italian Design Factories".

The Alessi family is been firmly established on Lake Orta, in a narrow valley in the Italian Alps, close to Switzerland. In this region there is a long-standing tradition in wood and metal handicraft, which has survived up to this day.

Within the Alessi company, design in the current sense of the term began to gain a foothold under Carlo Alessi, who drew on his training as an industrial designer in order to develop virtually all of the products which appeared in the Alessi range between 1935 and 1945. In the 1950s, Alessi began to increasingly rely on the contributions of freelance designers, in accordance with a practice which was to become typical of all "Italian Design Factories."

To this day, Alessi products are still considered as being handicraft items made with the aid of machines, meaning that even though Alessi does rely on contemporary, industrial technology and processing equipment, at the core their practice is still rooted in a handicraft culture.

It is one of Alessi's aims to contribute to this industry and design culture as an artistic mediator, attempting to create new objects, introducing a touch of transcendency, and also helping us all to decipher our own sense of modernity.

Alberto Alessi has worked with hundreds of designers since the early seventies, an experience that he has found most rewarding...

"I am a lucky man: each of these encounters has left me with something of importance. I love seeing how, each time, the "Vastness of the Creative Possible" gels into images, words, gestures and thoughts, always unique, yet always focused on the heroic exploit of expressing something that is larger than we are." -Alberto Alessi.

Alessi does not employ in-house designers, and prefers to work with independent and external talents who remain free from the corporate influence. The current catalog is the result of Alessi's collaboration with over 500 designers from all over the world.
