SteltonStelton is an adventure in stainless steel. Stellan and Carton were two friends who merged their first names in forming one of Denmark's best-know design brands, Stelton. Niels Stellan Hom and Carton Madelaire were army pals who joined forces 50 years ago to start a trading company. They tried their hand at sports shoes and furniture, but their business did not really take off until they heard about a small factory in Farevejle, Denmark, called Danish Stainless.
Danish Stainless produced stainless steel tableware, which was very much in vogue in Denmark's 1960s. Upon entering into an agreement with Danish Stainless, Stelton began marketing a stainless gravy boat that sold like hotcakes in Danish hardware stores and was also a hit outside Denmark. In the United States, Stelton products were the epitome of Danish Design and sold at ten times their Danish prices in high-end department stores and design boutiques.
A new managing director, Peter Holmblad, brought his far-reaching vision with him when he joined the company. New catalogues, packaging and graphic design all helped create a new design brand. However, Peter Holmblad was convinced that Stelton could survive only through new product design. Far too many companies produced the same kinds of products. As the stepson of Arne Jacobsen, who was perhaps Denmark's greatest architect and designer ever, it was natural for Peter Holmblad to approach his stepfather with a proposal.
Stelton launched new products three years later as Cylinda-Line. The new series immediately made a splash as a major innovation within its category. The simplicity of cylindrical shapes and specially designed plastic handles characterized the line which, along with its brushed steel surfaces, stood in striking contrast to the highly polished curves of its day. Cylinda-Line was awarded the ID Prize in 1967.
The Stelton vacuum jug kicked off 30 years of collaboration between Peter Holmblad's business acumen and Erik Magnussen's creative power. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the duo produced a wide range of design hits that appealed across generations of gift givers.
Peter Holmblad passed on the legacy to a new owner, Michael Ring, in 2004. Ring quickly initiated the company's commercial renaissance. He trimmed the assortment and invited new designers to furnish innovative product ideas to meet current consumer needs. Stelton added new lines to appeal to a broader range of consumer segments. While the cylindrical form can be seen in many of the new products, the current collection also includes a number of other, softer shapes.

Erik MagnussenErik Magnussen was born in 1940 in Copenhagen. He was educated as a ceramist, at the School of Applied Arts and Design, and then graduated with a silver medal in 1960.
He has worked for Bing & Grondahl, and created furniture for Fritz Hansen a/s , door handles for Franz Schneider Brakel gmbh, tabletop in pewter for Royal Selangor, tabletop in stainless steel and plastic for A/S Stelton, porcelain lamps for Licht & Form and furniture for Paustian a/s.
Magnussen's designs are exhibited in museums throughout the world and he has received the Lunning Prize in 1967 and the Furniture Prize in 1977. In 1983 he was chosen "designer of the year" by the Danish Design Council and his products have several times received the ID-prize by the Danish Society of Industrial Design. Magnussen received the Bindesbøll Medal in 1996 and he has received grants from the Ole Haslund Fund, the Royal Jueweller A. Michelsen's Anniversary Fund and Knud V. Engelhardt's Memorial Fund.
In 1997 Erik Magnussen was awarded The Red Dot in the Design Innovations 1997 competition held by Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen and he won the Good Design Gold Prize awarded by Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organisation.

We've bought our Stelton jug over 10 years ago and it still looks fantastic, both from a design and function perspective. Most of our Stelton products do.

All parcels are sent via Australian Air Express within Australia. All parcels need to be signed for on delivery, so we recommend use of a business address if there will not be someone home during business hours. If your parcel cannot be delivered you will receive a notification card and and you will need to make alternative arrangements for collection with the courier. International deliveries + bulky items
All shipping is calculated as flat rate and quoted for Australian delivery. Any International deliveries or items marked as "bulky" or "additional shipping may apply" will be calculated based on goods and destination and charged at checkout. If, in the rare situation that delivery costs exceed your expectations and you wish to cancel the order, top3 by design will fully refund the amount currently charged to your card on that order.
RETURNS + EXCHANGES POLICY
Your satisfaction is our main concern. If you are unhappy with an item you can return it for an exchange, store credit or refund which will be issued in the same form as the original payment, within 14 calendar days of the receipt.
Customer satisfaction

If you remain in any way uncertain, please call or email us.The product you return must be in: new, unused, pristine and unmarked condition, with all the original packaging in unmarked, saleable condition. Proof of purchase must be provided for all returns. Proof of purchase can be in the form of a receipt, credit card statement, or top3 membership ID if the item has been purchased on your top3 membership.
Special Order items (which are indicated online as such) are not able to be returned or exchanged, as they are ordered by customer request.
Products can be returned instore or to our warehouse. If you are sending the item back to the top3 warehouse please notify us before you return the item by phone (1300 867 333) or email (orders@top3.com.au) so we can provide you with a returns form and the instructions for returning your items. If you would like to request an exchange you can let us know at this time of your new selection, so we are able to reserve this for you.
